As I was writing my review on Tristar air fryers I was in a bit of a confusion. First of all there are more than one kitchen appliance companies called Tristar. Second of all Tristar is the name of the manufacturing company but their air fryer brand is called PowerXL. I was in a bit of an emotional roller coaster. When I started my research I thought this is the shadiest company you can buy an air fryer from and in the end I became sort of a fan of Tristar.
But enough of the background story. In this review first we’ll compare the top air fryers that Tristar has right now. After that you’ll learn about the company itself. Then I’m going to answer some frequently asked questions in the end.
If you want to skip all this and just want to see which is the best overall Tristar Air Fryer, then in our humble opinion it is the Power XL Combo 12-in-1.

Comparing the top Tristar PowerXL Air Fryers
Cooks for: 3-6 people (6QT)
Cooks for: 1-7 people (depends which size you buy)
Performance: 1000W - 1700W (depends on the size)
Cooks for: 6-8 people
A multi purpose appliance that can Air Fry, Bake, Fry, Grill (indoors), Sous Vide, Saute, Simmer, Steam, Slow Cook, Roast and it is also a Rice Cooker.
Once you buy it you’ll never have to use the stove top and the oven as one customer points it out. People can basically prepare anything in this machine: omelettes, pancakes, steaks, chicken breasts, vegetables (steamed or grilled), potatoes (steamed or fried). Need a few more ideas. Allright let’s go: baked biscuits, boiled egg, sausages, catfish, salmon (first steamed and then fried), shrimp, bacon. I got hungry just typing these words.
It is also extremely effecting if you are preparing time-consuming dishes. One customer said that he simmered tomato sauce for 5 hours and in the meantime he mowed the lawn and did some work from his home office. I loved this one
People also like the non-stick coating as it is very easy to clean it which is very important with air fryers. Another thing is that due to the air circulating fan air fryers tend to be quite loud. Well not this one. Several customers reported that it is so quiets that they can hardly hear it.
You can get it in 2 versions the Standard and the Deluxe. I will be honest with you guys but I couldn’t find the difference between the 2 versions. I’ve been searching on Amazon, Youtube, Tristar’s website, and countless other places but with no luck. It is quite frustrating because there is a 60% price difference between the 2 so it would be nice from the manufacturer to stress the difference more. Anyway if you find what makes the Deluxe version so “deluxe” please hit me a message.
If I’d have to choose from Trisar’s PowerXL air fryers I would definitely choose the Combo 12-in-1.
Pros and Cons of the Tristar PowerXL Combo 12-in-1
The Tristar PowerXL Air Fryer Vortex is a great product that can help you cook your favorite foods without using oil. It has 10 cooking presets: air fry roast, air bake, broil, dehydrate, reheat & more. Dehydrated snacks like fruit leather and jerky are fast and easy bake your favorite desserts, and even roast chicken, meats, vegetables, and more.
This product is easy to use with its digital LED interface. You can easily see what you’re cooking and how much time it will take by just looking at the LED display. It comes with a Cookbook that has recipes for making your favorite dishes in this air fryer.
The Tristar PowerXL Air Fryer Vortex is easy to clean as well! Just wipe down the interior with a damp cloth or sponge after each use to get rid of any food particles that may have gotten stuck on the inside walls while cooking something delicious in the past (or even yesterday). It also has an auto shut-off feature so you don’t have to worry about forgetting about your food while it’s still cooking!
Pros and Cons of the Tristar PowerXL Air Fryer Vortex
The Tristar PowerXL Air Fryer Maxx Classic is a decent air fryer in its category. It’s a 4QT or 7QT capacity, with a digital display and four one-touch presets—you can choose between fries, chicken, pizza, and donuts. The fryer also has a max temp of 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and a non-stick basket with a non-stick crisper tray.
One of the things we really love about this air fryer is how deep it is—that means you can cook large batches of food in it without having to worry about overcrowding or making sure everything cooks evenly.
It’s also easy to clean, especially if you’re using the non-stick crisper tray that comes with it. Just pop that out after cooking and toss it in the dishwasher!
All in all, this is an excellent product that does exactly what it’s supposed to do: make delicious meals quickly and easily in my own home.
Pros and Cons of the Tristar PowerXL Air Fryer Maxx Classic
We also like Tristar PowerXL Turbo Air Fryer, and here’s why:
First off, it comes in a 10QT size that equals to around 6lb. of chicken wings or a 14lb. turkey. That’s a lot of cooking space!
It has a 10QT size that equals to around 6lb. of chicken wings or a 14lb. turkey, which is perfect for me because I love to cook for my family and friends. The product comes with 6 cooking presets: Rotisserie, Air Fry, Roast, Broil, Bake, and Dehydrate.
I like that it has a rotating fry basket that allows you to cook your food evenly on all sides so you don’t have to worry about burnt food and unevenly cooked items. You can also use this basket as a griddle if need be—it’s extremely versatile!
I also like that this product comes with accessories such as a rotisserie spit and holder (so easy to use and clean up), as well as an accessory called “Eat ours not theirs” by Eric Theiss (which has many recipes in it).
Another great thing about this product is its transparent body which means you can keep an eye on your food while it cooks without opening the oven door.
The price tag is also competitive. Click here and check the price and the customer reviews.
Pros and Cons of the Tristar PowerXL Turbo Air Fryer
About the brand
It was very hard to find info about Tristar while I was writing this air fryer review.
Tristar is an American company that owns a lot of well-known brands like: PowerXL, Genie, Power Living etc.
It is a huge company (an Inc. 5000 company according to their website) with over a billion USD in the retail sales. Their CEO Keith Mirchandani was elected into the 10 best entrepreneurs of 2019 by Industry Era magazine.
What I didn’t like is there is literally only 3 sentences available regarding their background, although it’s a billion dollar business with a huge range of products with top selling brands. Unlike Kalorik’s page for example where I could read about their whole history dating back to 1930. I’d like to buy stuff from people and not from big corporations and therefore I like to see stories and faces when I visit a brand’s manufacturer’s site but had no luck here.
Nevertheless Tristar has won many awards in different categories. You can find all the information and user manuals for all their product on their page.
