Chefman XL 8QT Air Fryer Review
Why we like it:
- Stainless steel case
- Great price
- Big capacity
Limitations:
- 1000 watt performance
The Chefman XL 8QT is a very reasonably priced, decent air fryer. The first thing that I like a lot about this air fryer is the stainless steel case. This one has no plastic odor! I don’t know if I’ve seen a stainless steel air fryer with such a good price tag.
Also, it is an 8 QT air fryer, which is one of the biggest in the single basket air fryer category, which makes it even better.
It has four presets, which is on the low end compared to other air fryers. But this only means that you have to experiment a little bit more in the beginning when cooking your favorite comfort foods.
One thing I discovered is that this air fryer has a performance of 1000 watts. This is just a minor problem since it means it will preheat a bit slower due to the lower performance, especially since it is a big air fryer. For me, this is not a deal breaker because it means that it might take an extra 2 minutes to heat up. For such a good price tag, I think that extra 2 minutes is a good deal.
It has a digital touch screen interface that looks very nice in my opinion, and many people have said it is very easy to use.
It also has a shake alert that many other air fryers still don’t have and can be quite useful.
The maximum temperature is 400 degrees, which is standard in this category.
The 8-quart capacity is very generous. It can be enough for a family of 4–5. But this, of course, depends on what you cook in it. If you can fill the whole basket (e.g., with French fries), then it is absolutely enough for a big family. But there are some dishes that you can’t stack on top of each other. For those meals, an air fryer oven is a better choice since it has a much bigger surface.
Chefman XL Air Fryer Oven Review
Why we like it:
- Many accessories
- Dehydrator function
Limitations:
- Needs a lot of space
The air fryer oven of the Chefman XL line is also a great choice for those who are looking for price and value. It has nine different presets, and what is cool about that is that it has a dual preset function. This means that it can transition between two presets for a better cooking experience.
It has a 21,1-quart (20-liter) capacity, and it comes with many accessories:
- 2 dehydrator racks
- Broil pan
- Baking rack
- Air fryer basket
- Disposable crumb tray
It has a powerful 1800 watts of performance, which is perfectly enough for this handy little machine.
It is quite big with 15″D x 15.75″W x 14″H dimensions. So make sure you have enough space on your countertop or if you can store it somewhere in the house.
It has a dehydrator function that, in my opinion, can be useful. Since it has two racks, it has enough surface area to dehydrate fruits and vegetables. One of my favorite things to do is to dehydrate cherry tomatoes and eat them as a snack. Many air fryers don’t have this function, so if you’d like to dehydrate foods in a fast and convenient way, look for an air fryer oven like the Chefman XL.
Air fryer ovens have a higher maximum temperature compared to regular air fryers. This is the case with this one too, with a 450-degree maximum temperature.
Chefman Turbofry Dual Basket Air Fryer Review
Why we like it:
- Innovative dual basket design
- You can sync the 2 baskets
- 8 presets
Limitations:
- Design is a bit simple
The Chefman TurboFry is a dual-basket air fryer. This means it has two baskets and can serve two meals at once. I love these types of air fryers because you can make a main and a side at the same time.
What’s more, you can program the air fryer to cook everything at the same time. So, for example, if the main dish needs 25 minutes and the side dish needs 20 minutes, the side dish basket will start operating 5 minutes later.
Compared to other dual basket air fryers, the Chefman has a very good price tag, as you could have guessed by now.
But looking at the reviews, most people seem to be very satisfied with this product.
It has a 400-degree maximum temperature, whereas most other dual-basket air fryers have 450 degrees. But to be honest, I don’t even use 400 degrees in a basket-type air fryer because it can burn the food easily.
It has 8 built-in presets: chicken, fries, burger, bacon, fish, veggies, steak, and shrimp.
It has a 9-quart capacity, so that means it has two 4-quart baskets. If you are making a side and a main, it should be enough for three people at least.
Dual basket air fryers are the new hit in the air fryer world, so if you want to be the innovative type, the Chefman Turborfry offers an option that won’t hurt your wallet.
Chefman Air Fryer Review – Things to consider before buying
The market is filled with different kinds of air fryers. Different brands and models. So many options to pick from! But more the options are more it gets difficult to pick the best one. So, to make things easier for you here are a few guidelines or tips for you.
Before getting an air fryer you should keep in mind about three things; convenience, controls, and noise.
1. Convenience
Make sure the capacity of the bucket matches your needs. And keep in mind that bigger baskets are always a preference. Just in case. And also make sure that it’s easy to clean. It should also be very convenient to clean. Do check whether its dishwasher safe or not.
2. Controls
Now, air fryers usually come in two different models. The temperature control knob and the digital touch screen one. Here’s a thing, digital screen air fryers often come with pre-programmed items.
3. Noise
Almost all air fryer comes with noise. There’s no denial. But you need to check out whether it is tolerable enough.
What Size is suitable for me? (3.4quart and 5.3 Quart)
The 3.4-quart air fryer is suitable for 1-4 persons. And the 5.3 quart is perfect for 4-6 persons. Now, if you live alone getting the smaller air fryer is ideal. But, it’s always nicer to have the bigger one. In case you need to cook for a week in advance or for some friend and family coming over. It’s good to have a backup.
Which Version Should I buy? (Knob controls or Digital touchscreen controls)
The knob controlled air fryer gives more ranges of temperature to be chosen from. The digital screen one is effortless to use. One difference is that the digital screen ones usually have pre-programmed options. Whether to get a knob controlled or a digital touch screen entirely depends on you. Both of them serve the same purpose.
Where can I find a replacement basket?
Replacement baskets for air fryers are quite easy to find online. But the baskets usually come in packaging. The package mostly contains a bunch of other air fryer accessories. Usually, single baskets are not sold separately.
What’s the warranty?
Unlike other air fryers, Chefman air fryer has a warranty of 1 year. So, for any unexpected problems you face with this air fryer they are going to fix it for free. Also, their customer service is really good.
Why should you buy Chefman among other brands?
There is a reason for which Chefman air fryers stand out from the rest of the brands. And the reason is the price. This brand can provide good quality products at a very reasonable price. Interestingly they also come with a minimum of a 1-year warranty.
Now, it’s obvious that high priced air fryer will perform great. But getting a similar performing air fryer at a lot lower price is a win-win situation. And that’s why Chefman is a popular choice for many.
What do other customers and reviews say about Chefman air fryers?
If you are still confused that whether to buy it or not; here’s some reviews of this air fryer from other customers:
“I heard all the hype. I can tell you most of them are true” said one happy customer. While another customer said “Some of the paint chipped in the fry basket after 2 uses, I reached out to Chefman and they jumped all over it and made it right. I thought they would mail me just a new basket, but they sent a whole new fryer just because I was concerned about the safety of the food”; Chefman indeed has very good customer service.
Chefman Air fryer has some negative reviews too. “I think the fan is very loud, it’s annoying when you have 30 minutes selected.” Well here’s something to be noted about, that although the air fryer makes continuous noise but it’s tolerable. “Right off the bat we noticed the basket doesn’t sit properly in the machine, there is a large gap.”
Verdict: is this air fryer for you?
To sum up this Chefman air fryer review comparing the price and the performance with other brands; this air fryer is a must-try item. Its only negatives are its timer and the paint of the basket. Except for these two things its service is excellent. If you are okay with it you should get the Chefman air fryer.
